Starting Up the Design Study

Starting Up the Design Study is the responsibility of the Robert Schuman Centre at the EUI. The first meeting of the new Design Study PIREDEU was organised at the EUI in Florence on 20-23 February 2008 [final programme, pdf - 110KB]. The concrete details of the design study were discussed, and responsibilities were assigned for the work in each of the different study teams and for producing the study output. In addition, the PIREDEU user community was invited to propose areas of research to address with the data that will be collected within this design study.

Following the kick-off conference a report was drafted, in which responsibilities were demarcated and methods for establishing membership of the user community recommended. This report constituted the detailed work plan for the first 12 to 15 months of the design study.
