PIREDEU - Open Forum - Timetable and Deadlines

The schedule for the Open Forum consists of two distinct periods. First, a proposal period (15 April to 14 June 2008), where registered members can make proposals for questions and coding categories and comment on each others’ proposals. After 14 June 2008, the PIREDEU Steering Committee will review the proposals, deliberate about them and on this basis give general instructions to the Data Teams about the main content of the data collection instruments.

Second, a comment-only period (July 2008 – January 2009) where the five individual Data Teams will make the preliminary draft questionnaires/coding schemes available on the Open Forum to allow uses to make specific comments on these (question wording etc.), yet without the possibility to propose entirely new questions/themes. Thereafter, the Steering Committee will forge a final version of the questionnaire. The schedule is set out in greater detail below.

Proposal period: April-June 2008

15 April 2008: PIREDEU Online User Forum opens
15 April 2008: First day to submit proposals or post comments on them
14 June 2008: Final deadline for proposals
June 2008: Steering Committee decides upon proposals and provide general instructions to Data Teams.

Comments only period: July 2008 – January 2009

July 2008- : Data Teams post draft questionnaires and coding categories on the
January 2009: User Forum and users are invited to post comments on these
1 March 2009: Questionnaires and Coding Schemes are finalized by the Steering Committee
