Biographical Note:
Cees van der Eijk, Director of the M+Di at the UNOTT is Professor of Social Science Research Methods. Formerly, he was Professor of Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. He specialises in methodology for the empirical social sciences (measurement, data structures, multivariate analysis) and in comparative social and political research (mainly with an emphasis on the European Union, and on electoral processes, media and public opinion). He is a member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences and former President of the Dutch Political Science Association. He was a principal investigator of a series of Dutch National Election Studies, and of a variety of cross-national comparative studies. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of British and Irish Election Studies and serves on the editorial advisory boards of Political Methodology, Electoral Studies, Acta Politica and the book series Methodos. He has published widely in these fields, including more than a dozen books and almost a hundred book-chapters and articles, many in leading international journals.
